About Moe's Nutrition Calculator
We built this tool because ordering at Moe's Southwest Grill shouldn't require a nutrition science degree. Know what you're eating before you order.
Why We Built This Calculator
Moe's Southwest Grill has over 700 US locations and one of the most customizable menus in fast casual dining. That flexibility makes nutrition tracking hard. Two people can order a "chicken burrito" and end up with meals that differ by 500+ calories depending on their toppings.
Moe's publishes official nutrition data in compliance with FDA labeling requirements. It exists as a PDF buried in their website, not as a real-time meal builder. We took that data, cross-referenced it with the USDA Food Data Central database, and built an interactive tool that gives you calories, protein, fat, carbs, fiber, and sodium for any combination you can order.
People come to this tool for different reasons: counting calories, watching sodium for heart health, managing carbs for diabetes, or just wanting a straight answer on what's in the queso. The calculator gives you that answer in about a minute, without guesswork.
Our Data Sources
Every number in this calculator comes from two primary sources:
- Moe's Southwest Grill Official Nutrition InformationThe nutrition data Moe's publishes for FDA menu labeling compliance. This is our primary source. It reflects what's actually served in Moe's restaurants and is updated when menu items change.
- USDA Food Data CentralThe USDA's comprehensive food composition database, used to verify and cross-reference ingredient-level nutrition values. Where Moe's official data and USDA data differ slightly, we use Moe's figures as primary.
- FDA Daily Reference ValuesUsed for the percentage daily value context shown for each nutrient (2,000 cal, 50g protein, 2,300mg sodium, 28g fiber daily reference).
How We Calculate
We use an additive nutrition model, the same approach Moe's uses in their official documentation. Each menu component has fixed nutrition values. The total is the sum of every ingredient you select.
Example: a burrito tortilla (300 cal) plus chicken (200 cal) plus cilantro lime rice (210 cal) plus black beans (130 cal) plus cheese (110 cal) plus pico de gallo (10 cal) equals 960 calories total. Every topping is independent and every calculation is transparent.
Important disclaimer: Actual nutrition at any restaurant varies based on portion size, cooking technique, ingredient freshness, and regional preparation differences. These calculations are accurate estimates based on official data, not certified clinical measurements. For medical dietary decisions, consult a registered dietitian and reference Moe's official in-restaurant nutrition guides directly.
Our Editorial Standards
Niche-Specific Accuracy
Every number is sourced specifically for Moe's Southwest Grill, not generic fast casual averages. We verify against official data before publishing any figure.
No Paywalls, No Sign-Ups
This calculator is free, always. We believe nutrition information shouldn't require an account or a subscription.
Transparent Sourcing
We cite our sources on every page. If the official Moe's data changes (new menu items, recipe updates), we update the calculator to match.
